Finbar (and Family) are originally from The Gorbals district of Glasgow.

Following his graduation, Finbar relocated to rural Staffordshire and began his first stage of postgraduate training for 3 years, completing his General Professional Training (GPT) in both general practice in Trentham Gardens, Stoke-on-Trent with a Clinical assistant post at Lichfield Hospital (in Orthodontics) and at Dudley Road Hospital (Restorative Dentistry-DGDP Pt I)

1999 saw a move to the East Midlands and continuing extensive post graduate studies here over the last 25 years.

He owned his first practice at Victoria Embankment next to Trent Bridge from 1999-2009 developing it from a then standard NHS Practice into a large 5 surgery multi-disciplinary referral centre (for Oral surgery and Implantology) and providing general dental services.

Trained to Masters Level in the UK in Endodontology (2020) Fin has had a referral clinic for BUPA in Nottingham accepting cases both internal and external for the last decade, from complex primary cases to re-treatment cases, successfully completing 100's of treatments.

Further qualifications and attainments include:

• Diploma in Postgraduate Dental studies from the University of Bristol in 2003 (4 years study)
• Restorative Dentistry (Cardiff DH)
• Prosthetics (Sheffield DH) and Dental Business/ Marketing (Taunton, Somerset)
• Certificate in the Diploma of Sports Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Hospital, London, allowing him to work with elite athletes in all areas of sport with a particular interest both professional and personal in Football and Boxing.
• A Dawson Alumni from 2014 having studied Occlusion in the UK Academy under Ian Buckle and has completed numerous further year long courses in the UK under Chris Orr (Cosmetic/Restorative Dentistry), Professor Paul Tipton (Restorative Dentistry), Straumann (on Implantology).

Current and future studies:

• Post Graduate Diploma in Oral Surgery (2 years study, Manchester) until April 2024 allowing him to undertake more complex oral surgery (bone grafts, soft tissue grafting, Apicectomies and sinus lifts).
• Continuation of Endodontic Training with a Masters in Advanced Endodontics from the University of Siena, Italy, commencing in January 2024
• Further qualifications in facial pain and pain management from Edinburgh, Scotland and Los Angeles in California also in 2024.
